About Me

I have a broad background in technology, spanning software development, infrastructure, networking, IT operations, and technical leadership.

Over the years, I've worked in a variety of roles, including Cofounder/CTO and Head of Technology. But I've always enjoyed being directly involved in the work—whether that's troubleshooting a difficult technical problem, building an application, maintaining systems, or helping someone get technology working the way it should.

More recently, I've been spending a lot of time working with AI. I use it in my own development workflows and continue exploring how language models, automation, and integrations can make software more useful and solve practical problems. I'm particularly interested in understanding both what these tools can do and where their limitations matter.

Across all of this, what I enjoy most is learning how things work, solving problems, and building things that are genuinely useful.

Areas of Practical Experience

My experience covers software, systems, infrastructure, support, and the technologies that connect them.

Software Engineering

Designing clean, maintainable web applications and edge services with modern TypeScript, Python, and C++. Focus on typed architectures, pragmatic test suites, and schema-backed persistence using SQLite and PostgreSQL.

  • Languages TypeScript, Python, C++, Swift, SQL
  • Web & Edge React Router SSR, Vite, Cloudflare Workers
  • Databases Cloudflare D1, SQLite, PostgreSQL

Infrastructure & Networking

Operating local and cloud infrastructure with an emphasis on reliability and security. Building automated ingestion workflows, network monitoring daemons, and reliable telecommunications bridges.

  • Operating Systems Debian/Ubuntu Linux, macOS, Windows Server
  • Networking UniFi, VLAN segmentation, DNS, VoIP (SIP)
  • Automation Docker, cron orchestration, reverse proxies

IT Operations & Support

Direct, empathetic technical support for real people. Diagnosing hardware failures, managing workstation deployments, configuring peripherals, and designing workflows that reduce confusion.

  • Mac Support Apple Silicon fleet maintenance, native tools
  • Identity & Auth Single Sign-On, password managers, MFA
  • Internal Tools Administrative panels, approval workflows

AI, Automation & Integrations

I work with AI-assisted development, language models, APIs, and automation to build and improve practical tools. My interests include integrating AI into existing workflows, evaluating its output, and understanding where it can reliably reduce manual work.

  • AI & Language Models AI-assisted development, workflow integration, output evaluation
  • Home Assistant & IoT Custom HACS integrations, async Python, local automation
  • APIs & Data Services REST endpoints, webhook pipelines, OAuth, resilient retries

Education & Current Focus

I earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from Southern New Hampshire University.

I continue to build independent software and infrastructure projects, with a growing focus on AI, automation, and tools that solve practical problems. I'm interested in opportunities where I can apply my experience across software, systems, and IT to do useful work.
